Projects & Partners

Terre des hommes Germany does not directly implement its own projects in Southeast Asia, but rather works with local partner organisations who design and implement their own projects. These partner organisations include non-governmental organisations (NGOs), people organisations (POs), community-based associations (CBAs) or, in some instances, socially-oriented government agencies. These organisations, together with other representatives of social movements and committed academic circles, form the partners’ network of terre des hommes.

In 2011, terre des hommes Germany supported a total of 103 projects in 7 countries (Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam) in Southeast Asia. Of the 103 projects, 80 are regular projects, 5 co-financing, 15 emergency-related humanitarian projects, and 3 are supported by third party funding sources. Majority of these projects take an integrated approach to address inter-related issues, and many partners manage to diversify their funding sources, enabling other donors to support other components of their projects.
